Abstract

This Order establishes that on state nature reserve of federal significance “Khekhzirsky” shall be classified as biological (zoological) protected area destined for conservation and reproduction of rare and endangered wild fauna species constituted for an indefinite time period. Nature reserve shall be located in the Khabarovsk region and shall be under the direct jurisdiction of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology. It shall perform the following tasks: (a) conservation and reproduction of wild fauna species (biological diversity); (b) conservation of natural habitats and migratory routes of wild fauna species; (c) scientific research; (e) ecological monitoring; and (d) ecological education. The following activities shall be prohibited on the territory of state nature reserve: (a) all types of hunting; (b) commercial, artisanal and sport fisheries; (c) timber extraction and procurement of non-timber forest products; (d) any activity causing modification of hydrogeological regime, including drainage and land reclamation; and (e) introduction and release of alien species.
