Order No. 24 on supplementary quota in coastal shrimp-fishing off West Greenland in 2001. Country/Territory Greenland (Denmark) Document type Regulation Date 2001 Source FAO, FAOLEX Subject Fisheries Keyword Allocation/quota Crustaceans Total allowable catch Fishing area Marine fisheries Fishery management and conservation Aquatic animals Geographical area Americas, Arctic, Atlantic Ocean Islands, European Union Countries, North America, North Atlantic Entry into force notes This Order enters into force on 20 June 2001 and will automatically expire on 1 January 2002. Abstract The Order sets rules on the criteria for applying for additional quota in inshore shrimp-fishing in West Greenland. Vessel owners having transferred the yearly total allowable catch for 2001 may not be granted additional quota – however exception is made to vessels not operative for longer periods. However, if 80% of 2001 quota has been reached, it is permitted to apply for additional quota. The additional quota allocated may measure 25, 50, 100 or 200 tons. If there is a risk that total allowable catch for inshore shrimp-fishing in West Greenland is exceeded, the Minister of Industry may notify the need for suspension of fishing.
