Abstract

This Order establishes the modalities for sanitary and epidemiological testing of pesticides and agrochemicals for the purpose of assessing their harmfulness to human life and health, and to establish hygienic requirements and criteria for their safe management. Sanitary and epidemiological testing shall consist of: (a) complex toxicological and hygienic assessment of pesticides and assessment of their potential risk to public health; (b) hygienic assessment of the manufacture and use of pesticides; (c) hygienic regulation of the release of pesticides into the environment and the means of their application on national territory; (d) analysis of maximum residue limits of pesticides in foodstuffs and the environment; and (e) issuance of sanitary and epidemiological conclusions in accordance with the outcome of sanitary and epidemiological opinions.
