Abstract

The Order implements Law No. 2876-IS on Labeling of Genetically Modified Organisms Designated for Food Products/Fodder and Genetically Modified Products Produced from them. Under the Order a procedure is provided for customs compliance control of GMOs' and genetically modified products' labeling, liability for violating the labeling standards as well as the manner sample may be taken from the product for laboratory examination. Notably, this Order does not apply to personal items of diplomats, mailed packages, and items brought in the country in the luggage of travelers.
