Order No. 204 of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food regarding the observance of quarantine requirements in the process of import of grain and non-grain raw materials.

Abstract

The Minister states that in relation to the reduction of the centralized supply of grain and non-grain raw materials from abroad, and the development of direct commercial intercourse with the foreign states has probability of the introduction of with the aforesaid products of the dangerous pests and weeds. For the prevention of spreading of weeds and pests absent on the national territory, strengthening of phytosanitary control over the safety of products subject to quarantine inspection, the Minister orders to validate the list of enterprises authorized to import, store and process grain and non-grain raw materials subject to quarantine inspection (Annex 1) and the Regulation on the modalities of import of grain and non-grain raw materials (Annex 2). Import of the previously mentioned products shall be authorized in the presence of quarantine import authorization issued in conformity with the established modalities by the Belarusian plant quarantine inspection and of the phytosanitary certificate issued by the state plant quarantine institution of the exporting country. Lots of grain and non-grain products shall be subject to quarantine inspection and to phytosanitary expertise with the issuing of certificate. Products subject to quarantine inspection shall be stored separately. In case of the exposure of dangerous pests, the products shall be subject to compulsory disinfection and fumigation. Grain subject to quarantine inspection and destined for industrial processing shall be prohibited for the use as seeds and fodder.
