Abstract

This Order establishes the sanitary and epidemiological requirements for the processing, storage and transportation of dairy products. It applies to legal and natural persons that carry out such activities or trade in milk products. Authorization for the location of milk processing plants shall be conditioned on a sanitary and epidemiological certificate issued by the authorized state sanitary and epidemiological institution. Milk and cream destined for processing shall be tested at intake and shall be accompanied by a quality and safety certificate. Milk originating from farms without veterinary certificates attesting to the absence of infectious animal diseases shall not be accepted for processing. Milk and cream obtained from healthy animals at farms where an infectious animal disease has been discovered may be used to produce melted butter, but shall be prohibited for use in infant food.
