Veterinary and sanitary standards and requirements for the organization and management of aquaculture (Annex 1) define measures for veterinary and sanitary safety when organizing and maintaining pond, basin, pasture and cage aquaculture. Veterinary and sanitary standards and requirements are mandatory for all fisheries, regardless of the form of ownership, as well as for bodies (institutions) included in the state veterinary service system. The design, construction and reconstruction of fish hatcheries and fish farms are carried out in agreement with the authorized state body in the field of veterinary medicine. For breeding and growing commercial fish, it is allowed to use only reservoirs and water sources that correspond to the pH, salt and gas composition of the water, and are free from infectious and invasive diseases to which the farmed fish species are susceptible. All fishery reservoirs must be subject to constant veterinary supervision in order to take timely measures to prevent and eliminate fish diseases. Veterinary and sanitary standards and requirements for planning and buffer zones for pond and basin fish farms (Annex 2) establish requirements for the planning and creation of buffer zones between pond and basin fish-breeding industrial enterprises, livestock complexes, cattle burial grounds, populated areas, agricultural land, etc. These veterinary standards and requirements are intended for fishery entities, regardless of the form of ownership, carrying out aquaculture in ponds and pools, as well as for officials exercising state veterinary supervision/control. It is prohibited to build and operate fish farms by blocking the watercourse (with the exception of previously built river-bed, girder ponds), protective dams, it is permitted only by draining water, without causing damage to hydrography, forest plantations, pastures, without allowing soil degradation, pollution of water resources. Fish farms must take measures to prevent the penetration of all types of native fish into fish-breeding structures (ponds, pools), as well as other aquatic animal organisms and the escape of aquaculture species. Fishery-biological standards and requirements for the design of new and reconstruction of existing fish farms for the breeding of marketable fish and fish seeding material (Annex 3) determine the procedure for the design (organization) of new and reconstruction of existing full-system fish farms for the cultivation of marketable fish and fish seeding material in ponds, pools, cages of salmon and carp fish species, fish nurseries, fish hatcheries , basin and cage fish farms for commercial production of salmon and carp fish species. Fishery biological standards and requirements are mandatory for all fish farms, regardless of their form of ownership.
