Abstract

This Order approves the charter of the Agency of Protected Areas. The charter consists of 16 articles: General provisions (1); Scope of work of the Agency (2); Objectives of the Agency (3); Authority of the Agency (4); Property of the Agency (5); Financing of the Agency (6); Activities of the Agency that require authorization (7); State supervision (8); Accounting (9); Organization and representation of the Agency (10); Structure of the central staff of the Agency (11); Competences and management of the structural units of the Agency (12); Management of the structural units of the Agency (13); Consultation Council (14); Territorial administration by the Agency (15); and Reorganization and liquidation of the Agency (16). The Agency is responsible for managing the system of state reserves, national parks, natural monuments, reserves, protected landscapes, biosphere reserves, world heritage sites and wetlands of international importance (collectively known as protected areas of Georgia).
