Abstract

The Regulation on the modalities of carrying out genetic expertise of the origin and abnormalities of pedigree livestock consists of 6 Sections dealing with the following matters: 1) general provisions (sect. 1); 2) authorized enterprises (institutions) entitled with the task of carrying out genetic expertise (sect. 2); 3) requirement for carrying out genetic expertise (sect. 3); 4) requirements for the owners of genetic resources (sect. 4); 5) organizational and technological basis for carrying out genetic activity (sect. 5). Genetic expertise of the origin and abnormalities of pedigree livestock shall be the integral part of the pedigree stockbreeding and shall be conducted for the following purposes: 1) be the determination of the adequacy of data on the origin of pedigree livestock (cattle, swine, sheep, equine-animals, goats, rabbits and fur-bearing animals); 2) identification of animals and the establishment of the adequacy of data regarding the origin of pedigree livestock; 3) the exposure of pedigree livestock – carrier of genetic abnormalities for the purpose of the exclusion thereof from selection process. Genetic expertise shall be composed of: 1) immunogenetic control; 2) citogenetic control; 3) DNA-diagnostics.
