Abstract Methodology for the creation of electronic soil maps establishes the process of creating an electronic soil map consisting of the following works: (a) preparation of source materials, including the collection of information about previously work performed on a specific area of the area related to creation of an electronic cartographic information in order to avoid duplication of processes when creating an electronic soil map, systematization and analysis of the collected information (data) coverage of the territory of the object; (b) vectorization of soil contours and formation of a database of electronic soil map; and (c) design of a vectorized electronic soil map. In order to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the vectorization of soil contours shall be performed analysis of information (data) of soil research, during which the classification of soils by granulometric (mechanical) composition, chemical, physical and morphological properties of soils, soil records research, symbols and legend to the soil map are studied. The final electronic soil map contains data on the structure, features, properties of soils in the under study area (percentage of components in the soil complex, size in granules, degree of salinity, presence and amount of crushed stone, stones in soils), symbols and corner stamp.
