Abstract The Order sets rules on leisure hunting and fishing, whereby a license is issued by local authorities, and with various validity expirations (daily, weekly, monthly etc.). Fishing license is applied individually with the concession of being accompanied by one minor of max. 15 years of age. Fishing licenses allow individuals to fish with rod, jig or similar hand tools. For leisure hunting, the Government allocates a quota for musk oxen and reindeer and is applicable to those who have been granted a permit for a period of max. 3 years. Criteria for applying shall include documentation proof of satisfactory results of undergone training established and approved by the Greenland Tourism Association. Qualifying applicants must have knowledge of hunting and conservation regulations implemented by the Firearms Act, knowledge of animals to be hunted, competently undergo trophy preparation activities, and have knowledge of specific hunting areas. When issuing a certificate the Cabinet collects a fee for each hunted animal. Small game hunting includes birds, seals and small land mammals, license are personal and non-transferable and for the duration of max. 2 years.
