This Order enters into force on the day of its publication.
Abstract

This Order establishes guidelines for health care, with a view to preventing obesity and assisting people with obesity, to be implemented in all federal units, respecting the competences of the three spheres of management. The guidelines establish that the prevention of obesity and assistance for people with obesity should be organized in an articulated manner between the Ministry of Health, the State Health Secretariats and the Municipal Health Secretariats, allowing: to develop strategies for the promotion, protection and recovery of health; organize care for people with severe obesity; identify the main determinants that lead to obesity and develop cross-sectoral health care actions; define minimum technical criteria for reducing risks; dissemination of information of people with obesity and those undergoing post-surgical follow-up; etc.
