Abstract

The state supervision shall be carried out for the purpose of conservation and improvement of environment. The main tasks of the state supervision shall be to monitor the state of environment, to carry out environmental impact assessment of economic and other activities, to carry out environmental audit and evaluation of the realization of arrangements for the rehabilitation of environment, reproduction and rational use of natural resources and the enforcement of environmental legislation. The state inspectors shall take action for the prevention, exposure, and suppression of the environmental offences and to call to account the offenders. The state inspector shall draw mandatory reports on the violations of environmental legislation and requirements. Production manager of an economic entity must notify within seven days from the expiry date of a mandatory report of the compliance with the environmental requirements. Compensation of environmental damages can be either voluntary or compulsory by court decision. Economic activity that is not complying with ecological requirements can be suspended or prohibited in the form of the written notification to the offender.
