Abstract This Order establishes a partial prohibition of fishing activity in the underwater elevation zone called «Monte (Pico) Gonçalves Zarco». This prohibition aims to reach the following objectives: a) Promote the management and sustainable exploitation of marine biological resources; b) Protect biodiversity, vulnerable marine ecosystems and other natural values; c) Preserve the seabed from the adverse impacts of fishing activity. The area of the prohibition, corresponding to the submarine elevation zone called «Monte (Pico) Gonçalves Zarco», is delimited by the line that joins the points determined by the following coordinates, represented in the figure attached to this ordinance, which is part of it integral: A - 39° 04.300′ N 010° 13.360′ W; B - 39° 07.120′ N 010° 10.360′ W; C - 39° 01.240′ N 010° 02.120′ W; D - 38° 58.360′ N 010° 06.000′ W.
