Abstract

The Ministry establishes that state nature reserve of federal significance “Voronezhsky” shall have the status of biological (game) reserve and is destined for conservation and reproduction of precious, rare and endangered animal species and natural habitats thereof. Reserve shall be located in Ramonsky and Novousmansky districts of Voronezh province with total area of 22999, 7 thousands ha. Reserve shall have the following purposes: (a) conservation, recovery and reproduction of wild fauna; (b) conservation of migration routes of wildlife species; (c) research; (d) ecological monitoring; and (e) ecological education. The following activities shall be prohibited on the territory of reserve: (a) all types of hunting; (b) all kinds of fisheries; (c) logging, procurement of soft resin and non-timber forest products; (d) irrigation and land reclamation; (e) construction; (f) application of chemicals and fertilizers; (g) plowing, haymaking and grazing; and (h) introduction and acclimatization of living organisms.
