Depending on specific tasks of the environmental protection and conservation of natural resources the reserves can be classified as 1) landscape or complex destined for conservation and reproduction of the precious landscapes and the components thereof; 2) biological (botanical and zoological) destined for the protection and reproduction of flora and fauna, including fish stocks, conservation and reproduction of rare and endangered species; 3) paleontological destined for conservation of minerals of particular scientific value; 4) hydrological (marsh, lake, fluvial, marine, etc.) destined for conservation and reproduction of water bodies and ecosystems; 5) geological destined for conservation of mineral deposits. The proclamation of nature complexes state nature reserves shall not entail expropriation of the plots of land from land owners, landlords and land tenants. On the territory of state nature reserves and parts thereof can be prohibited completely or partially, permanently of provisionally economic, recreational and other activities contrasting the organizational purposes of the nature reserve or causing environmental damage, including ploughing up, main use felling, industrial, sporting and artisanal fishing and hunting.
