Abstract The Order applies to animal owners on the use and storage of drugs for animals. Additionally it provides guidelines for the unlawful treatment and on residues in animal products, food companies self-monitoring of residues in products of animal origin. For safety of livestock, medicine shall be administered according to approved products by veterinarians, pharmacies or other entity authorized by the Danish Health Authority. Products derived from food-producing animals, including meat, milk, eggs, fish and honey, shall not be traded, processed or used for human consumption containing residues of an authorized veterinary medicinal product maximum levels, or if containing residues of substances derived from illegal treatments.
