Cossack associations may be involved in the following activities: (a) protection of forests against infringement of forest legislation together with forest service officers; (b) spotting and extinguishing forest fires; (c) patrolling the most precious coniferous forests in periods of high forest fire risk; (d) protection of coniferous forests on New Year’s Eve; (e) control of forest management; and (f) lease of forest plots.
