Abstract The Danish Nature Agency may grant subsidies to increase the public forest area in Denmark. These can apply for the afforestation on publicly owned land, including preparatory tillage, purchase of plants, the planting and setting fences (1); and/or for the location survey and preparation of planting and forest maps (2). The requiring criteria for receiving subsidy grants shall adhere to Forest Act's article 4. Disboursement of subsidies shall occur in two rates (75% and 25%).
