Entry into force notes
Entry into force on 1 December 2013. For electrical equipment included in the European Parliament and Council Directive 2011/65/EU of 8 June 2011 on the restriction of use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment shall enter into force not earlier than 1 December 2014.
Abstract

This Regulation bans the trade of products for indoor use containing phthalates DEHP, DBP, BBP and DIBP, and parts of these substances which may come into contact with skin or mucous membranes. It is in fact illegal to import or sell items for indoor use containing more than 0.1% of one or more of the listed phthalates in Appendix 1 and which may come in contact with skin or mucous membranes. It is however permitted to trade with applications in industrial production equipment and industrial production facilities, including mobile and fixed offshore installations; the uses of motor vehicles and trailers, ships, trains and aircraft; applications in military equipment and military facilities. The ban does not apply to medical equipment and packaging, toys, infant articles with DEHP, DBP and BBP, cosmetic products, material intended for food (packaging etc.), used articles complying with Danish requirements at first sale.
