Abstract

This Order provides for the designation of a forest area of special function and landscape, and granting it the relevant status. The purpose of granting a status is to create the special protective regime to the area and regulate forestry measures for improving its biodiversity, properties and functions. The status of an area of special function is granted to such an area where there is riverside forest, sub-alpine zone of forest, edge of forest and/or such an area of state economic forest fund that has a special environmental or useful function (value) and which is not yet separated because of its small surface area. An area may be granted the status of an area of landscape if it has special esthetic and decorative forest. The Order further provides for other types of status that can be used for an area of forest (11 section).
