This Order enters into force on the day of its publication.
Abstract

This Order FEPAM, consisting of nine articles and 1 Annex, establishes the definitions and the technical criteria for environmental licensing procedures related to sand and gravel mining activities within the state of Rio Grande do Sul. In particular, it establishes requirements to perform the above mentioned activitiy as follows: environmental criteria for mining sediments submerged in the bed of surface water resources; defining the scope of removal, the sediment bars and islands in the mining operation activity, maintaining a minimum distance; respecting a maximum depth sediment extraction deposited in the water resources of the bed will be the lowest value to be obtained according to the following criteria; when in the area are present hydraulic structures, such as dams and sluices, extraction of submerged sediment in the waterways cannot take place at ranges less than those determined in the specific legislation of organs Managers, etc.
