Abstract

This Order amends the limits of the “Trincomalee Naval Headworks Sanctuary” under the Fauna and Flora Protection Ordinance (Chapter 469). By virtue of the powers vested by Paragraph (a) of Sub-section (5) of Section 2 of the Fauna and Flora Protection Ordinance (Chapter 469), I. Fatah Champika Ranawaka, Minister of Environment and Natural Resources, by this Order declares that the limits of the "Trincomalee Naval Headworks Sanctuary" declared as item 2 of the Schedule to the Order published in Gazette No. 13679 of June 6, 1963 and comprising of the area of land described in the text, shall be amended by the substitution for item 2 of the Schedule to such Order, of the new item 2 set out in the Schedule as follows: All that protected area in extent 16896.69 Hectares and situated in the Anuradhapura District in the North-Central Province and the Trincomalee District in the Eastern Province and which is bounded by the limits and the geographical co-ordinates are specified within.
