It provides that the environmental rules board of Indiana shall adopt regulations to implement certification programs for operators of water treatment plants or water distribution systems. The certification program for the operators shall be classified in accordance with the complexity, size, and source of the water for the treatment system and the complexity and size for the distribution system. The chapter further provides for classification of treatment plants; plant operators; certification of operators, department to administer examination at least once per year, authorization for third party examinations; application and its fees; triennial renewal of certificate; notice of expiration; suspension or revocation; issuance of certificates to operators from other states and territories, reciprocity; plant operators, certificates of competency, and exceptions; issuance of certificate; plant supervision by certified plant operator and exceptions; plant operators, vacancies and provisional certification; rules of plant operation by certified operators; and violations.
