Abstract These Standards and Operating Procedures shall apply to all sewage systems used and operated in Cook Islands. These Standards and Operating Procedures include provisions on the frequency and reporting of sludge removal; sewage flow reporting requirements; frequency of sampling effluent from the sewage systems; sampling analysis by an accredited laboratory; effluent standards indicating effluent compliance criteria; noise standards; sewage discharge standards; abandonment or disconnection plans and requirements; operation and maintenance manuals for a secondary or advanced treatment system; and offences and penalties.
