The present Regulations enter into force on 23 February 2000.
Abstract

The present Regulations enact the Energy Resources Conservation Act. The Regulations apply to exploration for petroleum, including exploration by a right holder and a person conducting a non-exclusive survey. Section 6 establishes that no person shall explore for petroleum except in accordance with a valid “authority to explore”. The text – consisting of 31 sections – deals with the following aspects: application for authority to explore, expiration of authority to explore, consent to explore on certain lands, location of field headquarters, inspection, revocation, reporting, final plan, heritage objects, provincial survey monuments, information and marine laws.
