Abstract

The Act regulates through grant of licences and permits the laying and use of pipelines to transport of mineral oils, natural gas and any of their derivatives or components, and also any substance (including steam and water) used or intended to be used in the production or refining or conveying of mineral oils, natural gas, and any of their derivatives or components. A permit to survey shall entitle the holder, subject to the provisions of section 6 of this Act, to carry out activities listed in section 5. The holder of a permit to survey may make an oil pipeline application to the Minister in accordance with the section 7 and other provisions of this Act. Rights and obligations of the holder of a licence are set out in section 11. Section 17 sets out terms and conditions of licences. Section 19 concerns disputes as to whether any compensation is payable under any provision of this Act. Certain rights in land are related with the right to lay pipelines.
