Abstract

This chapter of the Alaska Statutes regulates oil and hazardous substance pollution control. The chapter provides for reimbursement for cleanup expenses; removal of oil discharges; confidential information; oil discharge prevention and contingency plans; registration of oil spill response action contractors; proof of financial responsibility; noncrude oil operations; nontank vessels and railroad tank cars; inspections; compliance verification for nontank vessels and for trains and related facilities and operations; scope of regulations; catastrophic oil discharges; oil discharge cleanup personnel, equipment, expenses; compacts authorized; municipal powers limited; state master plan; regional master plan; and environmental covenant.
