Abstract

These Regulations provide rules for the design, construction, maintenance and inspection, etc., of oil pipelines and gas transmission and distribution pipelines in Nigeria. For pipelines with certain pressure and pipelines crossing or passing within 100 metres of a watercourse, the operator shall assure the Department of Petroleum Resources in the Ministry that adequate contingency plans have been made for protecting the environment. Guidelines for the inspection and testing of a pipeline and operating and maintenance guidelines shall take into account (emergency) measures.
