For pipelines with certain pressure and pipelines crossing or passing within 100 metres of a watercourse, the operator shall assure the Department of Petroleum Resources in the Ministry that adequate contingency plans have been made for protecting the environment. Guidelines for the inspection and testing of a pipeline and operating and maintenance guidelines shall take into account (emergency) measures.
