The present Regulations enter into force on 1 April 2014.
Abstract

The present Regulations are made under section 52 of the Oil and Gas Operations Act. In particular, the Regulations lay down provisions relating to the drilling for oil and gas. Section 2 establishes that the Board is authorized to make orders respecting the allocation of areas, including the determination of the size of spacing units and the well production rates for the purpose of drilling for or producing oil and gas and to exercise any powers and perform any duties that may be necessary for the management and control of oil or gas production. The text consists of 91 sections divided into 11 Parts as follows: Regulator’s powers (1); Management system, application for authorization and well approvals (2); Operator’s duties (3); Equipment and operations (4); Evaluation of wells, pools and fields (5); Well termination (6); Measurements (7); Production conservation (8); Support operations (9); Training and competency (10); Submissions, notifications, records and reports (11).
