Official telegram No. TF-6874 of 2001 of State Customs Committee regarding strengthening of hygienic and sanitary inspection of meat and meat-based products imported from EU member-states.

State Customs Committee, in connection with subsequent spreading of foot-and-mouth disease on the territory of EU member-states and the danger of its introduction on the territory of the Russian Federation invites to strengthen jointly with state veterinary survey inspection of meat and meat-based products imported from EU, including those transported in hand luggage. Customs officers are invited to give assistance to state veterinary survey officers.
