Abstract Foodstuffs subject to compulsory certification for the compliance with safety requirements, are classified within the System of certification into 14 of homogeneous products: 1). infant food; 2). grain and its derivatives; 3). bread, bakery products and macaroni foods; 4) oleaginous plants, vegetable oils and butter and fats; 5) meat and meat-based products; 6). fish, fish products and aquatic products; 7).milk and dairy products; 8). fruits and vegetables; 9).food concentrates; 10). sugar, saccharine and starch and treacle products; 11). Beverages and wine and vodka; 12). confectionary; 13). food additives; 14). poultry products. Foodstuffs subject to compulsory certification within the group of homogeneous products is sub-divided into produce with guaranteed expiry date up to one month (perishables) and over one moth (long-term preservation) that influence the choice of the system of certification.
