Country/Territory Document type Regulation Date 2019 Source FAO, FAOLEX Subject Fisheries Keyword Marine fisheries Fishery management and conservation International organization Transshipment Authorization/permit Data collection/reporting Marine fishes Crustaceans Foreign fishing Aquatic animals Abstract This Measure of the Commission for the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources (CCAMLR), adopted in accordance with Article IX of the Convention on the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources, requires the Contracting Parties to take measures to control CCAMLR new and exploratory fisheries as well as to those listed in Annex 10-09/A so as to combat IUU fishing activities. Each Contracting Party as a Flag State shall notify the Secretariat at least 72 hours in advance if any of its vessels intend to tranship1 within the Convention Area. The Flag State may permit or direct that such notifications be provided by the vessel directly to the Secretariat. It does not apply to vessels licensed by CCAMLR Contracting Parties under Conservation Measure 10-02 within the Convention Area which propose to tranship items other than harvested marine living resources, bait or fuel. In this case, each Contracting Party shall notify the Secretariat at least 2 hours in advance of such transhipment. No CCAMLR fishing vessel may tranship with any vessel, within the Convention Area for which prior notification has not been given. Full text English Website www.ccamlr.org
