Abstract

This Notification, in exercise of the powers conferred by clause (m) of section 2 of the Maritime Zones of India (Regulation of Fishing by Foreign Vessels) Act, 1981 (42 of 1981) and in supersession of the Notifications of the Government of India in Ministry of Agriculture, Department of Agriculture and Cooperation, published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part-II, Section 3, Sub-section (ii), vide number S.O. 314(E), dated the 10th May, 1982, Ministry of Food Processing Industries vide number S.O. 893(E), dated the 25th November, 1993 and number S.O. 40(E), dated the 13th January, 1997, the Central Government hereby specifies the ports of: Okha, Porbander, Mumbai, New Mangalore, Goa, Cochin, Tuticorin, Mandapam, Chennai, Visakhapatnam, Paradeep, Haldia, Port Blair, Kolkata, Puducherry and Kakinada, as specified ports for the purposes of the said Act.
