This Notification enters into force on 15 April 2009.
Abstract

This Notification, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 38 of the Biological Diversity Act, 2002 (18 of 2003), and according to the Central Government, in consultation with the Government of Uttar Pradesh, lists out threatened species of Plants and Animals in the State (Sub National/ province) of Uttar Pradesh, which are on the verge of extinction. In addition, it prohibits or regulates collection thereof and spells out appropriate steps to rehabilitate and preserve these species. The collection of the species of plants and animals listed in the Table shall be prohibited, except for specific purposes with the approval of the Uttar Pradesh State Biodiversity Board.
