Abstract

Margarine is prescribed food to have qualities or standards (Clause 1). In this Notification, margarine stands for product which is made in similar to characteristics of butter and contained mostly or wholly oil or other fat, besides butter fat, being passed through production process, and mixed with colouring, odouring and flavouring. Clause 3 regards quality to be satisfied by margarine. The types and quantities of food additives and colouring agents shall be used as prescribed in the attachments of this Notification. The Notification further provides for requirements for the production processes, production equipments and storages, labeling and packing, etc.
