Abstract

The present Act provides for the establishment of the Northwest Territories Power Corporation and provides rules with respect to functions, powers, administration and operations of the Corporation. Its principal function is to generate, transform, transmit, distribute, deliver, sell and supply energy on a safe, economic, efficient and reliable basis. It shall also, among other things, supply water and sewerage services and undertake programs to conserve energy; as well as to ensure a continuous supply of energy adequate for the needs and future development of the Territories. The text consists of 39 sections.
