Abstract

The present Regulations enforce the Territorial Lands Act (R.S. 1985, c. T-7). In particular, the Regulations lay down provisions relating to mining in the Northwest Territories and in Nunavut. For the purpose of the present Regulations “claim” means a plot of land located or acquired in the manner prescribed by these Regulations. The text – consisting of 70 sections – deals, inter alia, with the following aspects: interpretation, application, administration, licence, size of claim, recording, inspection, surveys, leases, transfer of a claim or lease, royalties, occupied land, prohibitions and reservations.
