Abstract This Norm regulates animal sanitary requirements to import ruminant semen and embryos to protect animal health from Schmallenberg disease, according to Resolution MERCOSUL/GMC/RES. No. 28/12. It establishes the veterinary requirements to be satisfied in order to import and trade ruminant animal semen originated by Mercosul member States, specifying conditions under which a veterinary certification is issued to combat the Schmallenberg disease: semen to be exported must be originated from a country which never experienced cases of Schmallenberg disease, or collected before 1 June 2011; or originated from artificial insemination centre which never registered cases of this disease, donors of semen to be exported must have had negative results, etc. Full text Portuguese Website www.agricultura.gov.br
