Entry into force notes
Parts 1 and 3 come into force on the day after the date on which this Act receives the Royal assent. The rest of this Act comes into force on a date to be appointed by the Governor-General by an Order in Council made on the advice of the Minister for Treaty of Waitangi Negotiations.
Abstract

This Act, consisting of 3 Parts and 5 Schedules, aims to restore and protect the health and well-being of the Waikato River, to recognize the vision and strategy for the Waikato River and to recognize the significance of the Waikato River to Ngati Tuwharetoa, Raukawa and Te Arawa River Iwi.
