It regulates on the security and security classification schemes in regard to work in gene-testing laboritories, including hazardous and dangerous zones. It is divided into general regulatory aspects (Abschnitt 1), basic principles and execution of security classification (Abschnitt 2), security measures (Abschnitt 3), project managers (Abschnitt 4), appointee for bio security (Abschnitt 5), and breaches of the law (Abschnitt 6). The regulation enters into force 1. March 2021 and replaces genetic engineering security law of 14. March 1995 (BGBI. I S.297), last amended by Article 57 of Regulation BGBI S. 1474 of 31.
