Abstract The present Ordinance enforces, inter alia, the Introductory Law relating to the Federal Act on inland navigation of 2 September 1979. In particular, the Ordinance regulates the navigation on waters of Zurich unless international agreements, federal legislation and inter-cantonal agreements are directly applicable. The text consists of 48 articles divided into 9 Parts as follows: Sphere of application and competence (I); Practical sailing test (II); Special local arrangements, signals and lighting (III); Storm warning and sea rescue (IV); Freezing of lakes (V); Limitation of navigation on public waters with the exception of Lake Zurich and the Rhine (VI); Fees (VII); Various provisions (VIII); Final provisions (IX).
