Abstract The purpose of this law is to: 1) safeguard biodiversity; 2) protect the beauty of nature and the value of landscape; 3) promote adaptation to climate change; 4) support the sustainable use of natural resources and the natural environment; 5) increase public awareness of nature and environmental consciousness; and 6) promote nature research. The Act applies to the protection and conservation of nature and the landscape. The Act mandates the Ministry of the Environment to develop the national strategy for biodiversity and the action program to implement the strategy. The national shall establish nationwide operational, quantitative, and temporal goals to halt the loss of biodiversity and improve the condition of biological diversity.
