Entry into force notes
The present Ordinance enters into force on 7 January 2008.
Abstract

The purpose of the present Ordinance is to transpose the EU Council Directive 2006/117/Euratom of 20 November 2006 on the supervision and control of shipments of radioactive waste and spent fuel. The Ordinance lays down, inter alia, provisions relating to the simplification of the existing procedure for the shipment of radioactive waste between Member States; to the extension of the scope of the Council Directive to shipment of spent fuel intended whether for disposal or processing. The text consists of 32 articles divided into 4 Parts as follows: General provisions (1); Transfer within the European Union (2); Transfer from or in a third country (3); Final provisions (4).
