Abstract The purpose of the present Ordinance is to transpose the EU Council Directive 2006/117/Euratom of 20 November 2006 on the supervision and control of shipments of radioactive waste and spent fuel. The Ordinance lays down, inter alia, provisions relating to the simplification of the existing procedure for the shipment of radioactive waste between Member States; to the extension of the scope of the Council Directive to shipment of spent fuel intended whether for disposal or processing.
