Abstract

These Regulations regulate the bottling and marketing of natural mineral waters. They shall apply to waters extracted from the ground of a member State of the European Community or of Malta and recognised by the responsible authority of the country concerned as natural mineral waters satisfying the provisions of section 1 of the First Schedule to these Regulations and to natural mineral waters imported in Malta and recognised as such by the Directorate responsible for foodstuffs. The rules in the First Schedule specify, among others, criteria regarding extraction and microbiological purity of natural waters. The Second Schedule specifies conditions for the exploitation of sources and marketing of natural mineral waters.
