Native vegetation includes trees, understorey plants, groundcover and plants occurring in wetlands of indigenous vegetation, i.e. species of vegetation that existed before European settlement. The clearing of native vegetation is only possible in accordance with consents granted under the Act or with property vegetation plans, as approved under the Native Vegetation Act.
