Abstract This National Strategic Plan for Water and Sanitation (PLENAS) was approved by Resolution No. 10/2015 of 20 February. This National Strategic Plan aims to provide strategic guidance to the Government and Local Authorities in relation to policies of this sector and guides the detailed planning processes to be carried out on each island of the Republic, to ensure to anyone the right to water and promote the development of Cape Verde via the integrated improvement of water supply conditions, sanitation and hygiene, safeguarding the sustainable use of natural resources and the environment, as well as equity and gender equality and the most disadvantaged social classes.
