The terms specified in this National Standard are recommended for use in all types of documentation and literature on organic food in the field of organic production, included in the scope of standardization work and/or using the results of these works. Organic agriculture shall be intended production system that improves ecosystem, maintains soil fertility, protects human health, and, taking into account local conditions and relying on ecological cycles, preserves biological diversity without the use of components that can harm the environment. Organic production shall be intended production using the rules of organic production established at all stages of organic production, preparation and turnover. Rules of organic production shall be intended code of provisions governing technological processes for the production of organic products and raw materials of vegetable or animal origin, which establish a system of rules in all stages of their production, processing, certification, labelling, storage, sale and inspection. Organic food product shall be intended a product in natural or processed form - produced from raw materials of plant and animal origin, grown in zones for organic agricultural production, as well as forest, bee and fish products, grown, produced, processed, certified, labeled, preserved and sold in accordance with the rules of organic production, intended for consumption in processed or unprocessed form.
