It is not applicable to infant food beverages. Functional beverage shall be intended a water-based liquid functional food product containing one or more functional food ingredients in an amount sufficient for systematic use to provide a beneficial effect on the physiological functions of the human body, with or without the addition of various food additives and flavoring substances. Beverages are manufactured in accordance with the requirements of this standard in conformity with recipes and technological instructions in compliance with the established standard requirements. Beverages are poured into consumer packaging, hermetically sealed and packed in transport packaging. Beverages must be bottled and packaged in a way that ensures their safety and the properties declared in the labelling during the period until expiration date, subject to the conditions of their transportation and storage. Consumer packaging and closures must be made from materials ensuring the preservation of safety, functional properties and quality of beverages in contact with beverages.
