Abstract

This Strategy is about the containment in a sustainable manner of health and environmental risks posed by sites of which the soil, water or other features are contaminated. Objectives of the strategy are, amongst others, that risk sites are identified, investigated and remedied immediately, positive interaction between risk management and land use in contaminated areas, and restauration methods minimise impacts on the environment and promote a circular economy. There is a National Soil Database System for the registration of (potentially) contaminated sites.
